About Irwin Barrett
Irwin Barrett has been a Fine Art photographer for over 46 years specializing in Landscapes, the graphic details found in nature, Abstracts and Photo-Impressionistic subjects found mainly in his home province of Nova Scotia in Canada. His photos have been featured in various books, calendars, notecards, magazines and websites over the years.
Irwin has been passionate in his support of wilderness preservation and his photographs have been used in support of environmental conservation groups and their activities such as Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, the Ecology Action Centre( Halifax, Nova Scotia) and the Nova Scotia Nature Trust.
Way back in 1977 when Irwin first picked up a 35mm camera, one of the first books on photography he read was a book by famed Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson entitled " Photography For The Joy Of It." This title sums up Irwin's on-going philosophy of his life as a photographer. Photography for the joy of it, indeed! Thank-You Freeman!
I hope those who view these images will take from them a tiny bit of that joy I had in making them.
